Job summary

The role requires a B.S. in a CLIA-approved program and MLS certification or eligibility, with externship preferred. Strong accuracy, professionalism, and communication are essential in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a CLIA-approved program (required).
• MLS certification or eligible by a nationally recognized agency (ASCP preferred) (required).
• Externship program completed (preferred).
• Ability to provide quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment and maintain patient safety.

Responsibilities

• Perform analytical tests on biological specimens in a timely, efficient, and accurate manner in compliance with documented laboratory procedures.
• Determine acceptability of specimens by performing visual inspections or recognizing abnormal/unusual results.
• Recognize factors that affect measurements and results and take the appropriate action according to protocols.
• Perform quality control for all testing and meet established ranges before patient results are released.
• Maintain a safe and efficient work environment by performing equipment checks, cleaning work area, monitoring temperatures following hospital policies, and troubleshooting laboratory equipment.
• Other duties as assigned.
