Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor, Master or Doctoral degree in a chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science.
• Current national certification or licensure at the Technologist/Scientist level by ASCP, AMT, AAB, HEW or California DHS.
• Previous Medical Laboratory Scientist experience preferred.
• Must wear PPE according to lab safety policies.

Responsibilities

• Performs laboratory analysis of human specimens per policies and quality standards.
• Documents results accurately into the Laboratory Information System.
• Recognizes and reports critical results promptly to clinicians.
• Ensures specimen adequacy and appropriate handling to yield meaningful results.
• Performs quality control, proficiency testing and calibration procedures.
• Maintains and calibrates analytic instruments and supports troubleshooting.
