Job summary

Discord is seeking an Engineering Manager for the Safety ML team to own detection systems for content understanding, account integrity, and platform abuse at scale. You will lead a team of ML engineers, guiding technical vision and collaborating with Trust & Safety, Product, Policy, Legal, and Data Science.

You will ship production ML systems with real-time and batch models, working cross-functionally to improve safety and user experience.

Qualifications

• 5+ years as ML Engineer, Data Scientist, or Applied Scientist.
• 3+ years as Engineering Manager leading 5+ engineers.
• Experience in abuse/fraud detection, content classification, behavioral modeling, graph-based modeling, or LLM-based classification.

Responsibilities

• Build and lead an exceptional ML engineering team with hiring, coaching and ownership.
• Drive the technical vision and roadmap for Safety ML across Trust & Safety, Product, Policy, Legal, and Data Science.
• Own end-to-end lifecycle of production safety models: define capabilities, measure performance, monitor health.
