Expedia Group in Seattle invites applications for the Applied Science – 2027 Summer Intern (PhD). You will join a global team building ML models, prototyping pipelines, and contributing to real travel platforms.

The program runs May 24–July 30 or June 21–August 27, 2027, includes mentorship, tailored learning, leadership exposure, and a hybrid work policy with relocation support where eligible.

Qualifications

• Must be graduating with a PhD in a technical subject between Dec 2027 and July 2028.
• Must be available May 24–July 30 or June 21–August 27.
• Must be willing to relocate to city of job location if outside commuting distance.
• Must have Python and/or Scala, SQL knowledge.

Responsabilités

• Design, prototype, and evaluate ML models under guidance of senior scientists.
• Implement clean, maintainable model training and inference code with unit tests.
• Collaborate with data scientists, engineers, and product partners to define success metrics.
• Learn to work with AI-driven systems and apply ML concepts to real-world products.
