Job summary

Expedia Group is offering a Global Summer Internship Program in Seattle for Applied Science interns. You will join a team building ML models, prototyping pipelines, and contributing to real business priorities with guidance from experienced scientists and engineers.

You will learn through role-specific technical sessions, mentorship, and exposure to leadership, with opportunities for a full-time offer after graduation and relocation support if needed.

Qualifications

• Must be available to commit to full program dates: May 24th – July 30th, 2027.
• Must be graduating with a Master’s degree in a technical subject (e.g. CS, AI, Data Science) between Dec 2027 and Jul 2028.
• Must be willing to relocate to city of job location if outside commuting distance.
• Must have Python and/or Scala, SQL knowledge.
• Must have no more than 2 years' professional experience.
• Must be graduating from university in the same country of internship location.

Responsibilities

• Design, prototype, and evaluate machine learning models under guidance of senior ML scientists.
• Implement clean, maintainable model training and inference code with unit tests and reproducible experiments.
• Participate in low-level system and API design for ML-powered features.
• Explore, analyze, and prepare data using basic statistical and ML techniques to improve model quality.
• Collaborate with peers, mentors, data scientists, engineers, and product partners to define success metrics and iterate on ML solutions.
• Learn to work with AI-driven systems and safely integrate AI/ML-enabled solutions within scope.
