Job summary

Expedia Group invites applications for its Global Summer Internship Program as an Applied Science Intern. You will work on real-world ML projects, design and prototype models, and contribute to data pipelines and experimentation workflows.

You will join a supportive, mentor-driven program with structured onboarding, leadership exposure, and opportunities to build a lasting impact on travel technology. Relocation and flexible hybrid options are available.

Qualifications

• Must be available to commit to the full program dates: May 24 – July 30, 2027 or June 21 – August 27, 2027.
• Must be graduating with a Master’s degree in a technical subject between December 2027 and July 2028.
• Must be willing to relocate to city of job location if outside commuting distance.
• Must have Python and/or Scala, SQL knowledge.
• Must have no more than 2 years' professional experience.
• Must be graduating from university in the same country of internship location.

Responsibilities

• Design, prototype, and evaluate ML models under guidance of experienced researchers.
• Implement clean model training and inference code with unit tests and reproducible experiments.
• Participate in low-level system design, API design, and data modeling for ML features.
• Analyze data using ML techniques to improve model quality and fairness.
• Collaborate with scientists, engineers, and product partners to define success metrics.
