Job summary

DoorDash is seeking a Machine Learning Engineer intern to join our engineering team and work on a 12-week summer program across San Francisco, Sunnyvale, New York, or Seattle. You’ll tackle challenges in ML/AI, conduct research, and mentor while exploring areas like recommender systems, ranking, AdTech, computer vision, and big data analytics.

You’ll collaborate with teams to apply research to real product experiences, collect and analyze data, and develop scalable ML models.

Qualifications

• Working toward a Masters degree in CS/ML or related field and graduating Fall 2027–Summer 2028.
• Experience in research and solving analytical problems.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Passion for applied ML and the DoorDash product.
• Publications in machine learning/AI/data science are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Use cutting‑edge ML/AI research to solve real‑world problems across discovery, ads, forecasting, fulfillment and search.
• Contribute and execute on research ideas to improve product experience at DoorDash.
• Collect, analyze, and synthesize data to build relevant ML models.
• Write clean, efficient, and sustainable code.
