Job summary

DoorDash is seeking machine learning engineer interns to join our fast-growing engineering team and tackle ML/AI challenges. You’ll conduct research applicable across Doordash engineering teams in areas like Recommender systems, Ranking, and AdTech, while mentoring and collaborating with others.

We offer a 12-week summer internship in San Francisco, Sunnyvale, New York, or Seattle, with opportunities to publish and contribute to product experiences in discovery, ads, forecasting, and search.

Qualifications

• PhD student graduating Fall 2027 to Summer 2028.
• Mastery of at least one systems language or ML framework.
• Experience in research and solving analytical problems.
• Strong communicator and team player.

Responsibilities

• Use cutting-edge ML/AI research to solve real-world problems across discovery, ads, forecasting, fulfillment and search.
• Collect, analyze and synthesize data to build relevant ML models.
• Collaborate across engineering teams and mentors; contribute to research ideas.
• Write clean, efficient, scalable code and apply research results to product.
• Engage in external collaborations and mentoring when applicable.
