Job summary

DoorDash is seeking a Machine Learning Engineer intern to join our fast‑growing engineering team and tackle new challenges in ML/AI. You will conduct research applicable across our engineering organization and engage in collaborations and mentoring while exploring areas such as Auction, Game Theory, Recommender Systems, Ranking, AdTech, Computer Vision, Causal Inference, and Big data analytics.

A 12‑week summer internship program is offered in San Francisco, Sunnyvale, New York, or Seattle.

Qualifications

• Working towards a Masters in CS/ML or related field and graduating between Fall 2027 & Summer 2028
• Mastery of at least one systems language (Java, C++, Python, Kotlin, GoLang) or one ML framework (Tensorflow, Pytorch, MLFlow)
• Experience in research and in solving analytical problems
• Strong communicator and team player
• Passion for applied ML and DoorDash product
• Publications in ML/AI or data science beneficial

Responsibilities

• Conduct cutting‑edge research in ML/AI, NLP, RecSys, Ranking, Computer Vision, Causal Inference, Ad Tech, Graph analysis
• Develop and apply ML models to improve product experiences across discovery, ads, forecasting, fulfillment and search
• Collaborate with engineering teams and mentors to translate research into production‑readable code
• Write clean, efficient, and scalable code
