Job summary

DoorDash is seeking machine learning engineer interns to help build a 24x7 global infrastructure powering its three‑sided marketplace. You will conduct research across areas like Auction, Game theory, Recommender systems and more, with a 12‑week summer internship in Seattle or other U.S. offices.

You’ll tackle real-world problems with ML/AI, contribute ideas, analyze data, and write clean, scalable code, while collaborating with engineers and mentors in a fast‑growing team.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a PhD in CS/ML/Statistics with graduation planned Fall 2027–Summer 2028.
• Proficiency with at least one systems language (Java, C++, Python, Kotlin, Go) or one ML framework (TensorFlow, PyTorch, MLFlow).
• Experience in research and solving analytical problems.
• Strong communicator and team player.
• Passion for applied ML and the DoorDash product.
• Publications in ML/AI, data science, data analytics or related fields preferred.

Responsibilities

• Use cutting-edge ML/AI, NLP, RecSys, Ranking, Computer Vision and related areas to solve real-world problems across discovery, ads, forecasting, fulfillment and search experiences at DoorDash.
• Contribute and execute on research ideas to improve product experience at DoorDash.
• Collect, analyze, and synthesize findings from data and build relevant ML models.
• Write clean, efficient, and sustainable code.
