Job summary

Symbotic is seeking interns/co-ops to help architect and scale a cutting-edge software platform powering autonomous robotic systems. You’ll collaborate with ML R&D teams, optimize deployment pipelines, and contribute to edge computing and data-driven diagnostics.

This role offers hands-on experience with ONNX/TensorRT, GCP/Azure, Docker, and real-time robotics software. Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor’s degree in CS/Software/Robotics and are proficient in Python or C++.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or above in computer science, software engineering, robotics engineering or related field
• Experience with cloud platforms (GCP or Azure)
• Experience with data systems including telemetry and sensor data
• Proficiency in Python or C++
• Strong software engineering skills, delivering high-quality code

Responsibilities

• Architect and scale our software platform to support autonomous capabilities.
• Collaborate with ML R&D teams to ensure models meet deployment requirements.
• Optimize the robotic hardware deployment pipeline from merge requests to testing and rollout.
• Maintain and improve edge computing infrastructure for real-time performance.
• Create pipelines to train robotic machine learning systems including data handling and evaluation metrics.
• Accelerate evaluation through hardware and mechanics simulations.
• Reduce hardware maintenance with data-driven diagnostics and alerts.
• Engineer state-of-the-art robotic software to boost ML performance.
• Design efficient compilation architectures to decouple hardware dependencies.
• Structure docker-compose configurations to balance hardware sharing.
