Job summary

Middletown Public Schools is seeking a Math Interventionist to provide targeted support to Multilingual Learner students in Algebra I–Pre-Calculus using push-in and pull-out models. The role bridges math content with language development to make abstract concepts accessible.

You will collaborate with math teachers and ML staff to strengthen understanding, confidence, and language-rich math practice across study periods.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree preferred in Mathematics, Education, or related field.
Secondary math background with Algebra I & II, Geometry, Statistics, Pre-Calculus.
Experience with Multilingual Learners/English Learners preferred.
Bilingual or multilingual skills strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

Provides targeted math intervention to ML students using push-in and pull-out models.
Delivers instruction in Algebra I & II, Geometry, Statistics, and Pre-Calculus.
Creates manipulatives and visual aids to make abstract concepts concrete.
Teaches mathematical vocabulary and language structures for clarity.
Adapts instruction to student needs and language levels.
Collaborates with teachers, ML staff, and admins to align goals.
Monitors progress and adjusts strategies accordingly.
