Job summary

Montgomery-Public-Schools seeks an Interventionist for 7–12 grade Math and ELA to deliver targeted, data-driven interventions and monitor student progress. The role emphasizes diagnosing gaps and implementing MTSS-aligned strategies in collaboration with teachers and administrators.

The candidate will analyze assessments, design explicit lessons, and track growth weekly, reporting findings to the PST and parents. A valid Alabama license and 3 years of teaching experience are required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited institution.
  • Valid Alabama Educator License in Secondary Mathematics or English Language Arts; Collaborative Special Education preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of successful classroom teaching experience.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver targeted, small-group and individualized interventions in Mathematics and ELA.
  • Analyze state assessments, screening data, and progress data to identify deficits.
  • Plan explicit, systematic, multi-sensory lessons tailored to student needs.
  • Monitor and graph student progress weekly or bi-weekly to evaluate intervention effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with PST to determine tier placements and support needs.
  • Co-teach with core teachers to embed scaffolding into Tier 1 instruction as needed.
  • Align intervention materials with Alabama Course of Study Standards.
  • Maintain communication with parents and administrators about progress and plans.
