Job summary

CLOVEHITCH seeks interpreters fluent in Mixteco to support a client serving minors. Interpreters will facilitate communication between minors and Care Staff, ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and cultural sensitivity. Primarily in-person, with possible remote support via phone or videoconference as needed.

The role requires ILR 2+ proficiency in English and Mixteco, and may involve vaccination or security clearances. A valid driver’s license and work authorization in the U.S. are required.

Qualifications

• Working proficiency (ILR 2+) in English and Mixteco.
• May be required to obtain a T2, Public Trust clearance.
• Prior experience in foster care or medical care settings preferred.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-person interpretation at client sites.
• Relay deadlines, instructions, questions, and information between staff and minors.
• Assist minors in communicating concerns when not fluent in English or staff language.
• Assist in orienting minors to community resources.
• Help staff build rapport and understand cultural context.
• Support special projects and initiatives.
