Job summary

CLOVEHITCH is seeking qualified interpreters fluent in Mixteco to support a client serving minors. Interpreters will facilitate impartial, confidential interpretation in care settings, primarily in person at client sites across the United States, with remote options as needed.

Eligible candidates must have ILR 2+ in English and Mixteco, a valid driver's license, and be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Qualifications

• Must have working proficiency (ILR 2+) in English and the target language.
• May be required to obtain a T2, Public Trust clearance.
• Prior experience in foster care or medical care situations is preferred.
• This position requires a valid driver’s license.
• This position is open only to individuals authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
• This position is subject to the Service Contract Act (SCA) and compensation will follow the applicable wage determination.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-person, onsite interpretation at client service sites.
• Relay deadlines, instructions, questions, and other communication between staff and minors in their preferred language.
• Assist minors in communicating concerns to staff when not fluent in English or staff language.
• Provide translation/interpretation to orient minors to community resources as requested.
• Assist staff with building rapport and understanding the client populations’ cultural context.
• Support special projects and initiatives.
