About you
· Minimum 4 years’ experience as a Cook or in a similar role within a 5-Star hospitality or restaurant environment; shipboard experience is a plus.
· Advanced culinary skills and comprehensive knowledge of hot and cold kitchen sections
· Guest-focused, service-oriented, positive personality, professional appearance, and impeccable hygiene standards, with thorough knowledge of Public Health Policies
· Ability to work efficiently and collaboratively within a team
Role Overview
As part of our Mississippi Food & Beverage team, your role as a Cook involves preparing delicious meals for guests and crew according to recipes set by the Executive Chef.
· Reporting to the Assistant Chef de Partie
· Working on a 10-12/3-4 rotation (10-12 weeks onboard, 3-4 weeks off); rotation lengths may vary based on staffing and operational needs.
Role Expectations
· Prepare dishes at an advanced level, following company recipes and procedures with minimal supervision
· Maintain quality and presentation during food preparation and service
· Practice economical work habits and control food production to minimize waste
· Adhere to food safety and public health standards
· Provide high-quality service with impeccable cleanliness, hygiene, and PPE use
· Maintain 'clean as you go' habits and cleanliness standards
· Uphold grooming and uniform standards
· Demonstrate flexibility, positivity, and professionalism at all times
· Arrive punctually and prepared for work
· Perform additional tasks as assigned based on operational needs
Mandatory Requirements & Employment Conditions
· U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident (green card) required
· Ability to pass pre-employment drug testing; Viking maintains a drug-free workplace
· Must be 21+ years old, physically fit, and healthy to meet job demands, including lifting heavy items and prolonged standing, kneeling, and bending
