Mount Indie is seeking a Mission Systems Engineer to support DoD mission software and customer workflows. The role focuses on operation, support, sustainment, and field coordination across multiple sites in the DC/Baltimore region with hybrid work (65% remote, 35% on-site).

Qualifications

• 5+ years in a customer-facing technical role with troubleshooting skills and ability to articulate technical information to stakeholders.
• 5+ years supporting, administering, or troubleshooting Java applications.
• 5+ years working with Linux command line tools, Bash scripting, SQL queries, and configuration files.
• 5+ years deploying, maintaining and troubleshooting web application environments (Jetty/Apache/IIS), networking concepts, SSL/TLS, PKI/certificates.
• 5+ years supporting software releases, patches, vulnerability remediations, or DoD delivery artifacts.
• 5+ years of QA, validation testing, installation testing, or customer acceptance support.
• Active DoD 8140 / DCWF qualifications required; COMPTIA Security Plus coverage for this role.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer support and troubleshoot escalations through triage, investigation, and resolution.
• Assist with advanced product support for customers lacking embedded coverage.
• Review logs, system behavior, and configuration to diagnose product or environment issues.
• Document issue severity, impact, workarounds, and findings for ticket routing.
• Communicate technical information clearly to customers and internal stakeholders.
• Assist with preparation and validation of customer-facing releases, patches, and advisories.
• Support installation, upgrade, patching, and validation activities for deployments.
• Create and update product documentation and training materials.
• Provide site integration and field support as needed.
• Coordinate with dev, support, and management to move issues toward resolution.
