Job summary

Northrop Grumman Defense Systems (NGDS) seeks a Software Engineer / Principal Software Engineer in Manhattan Beach, CA to join a state-of-the-art mission planning team. You will work in Scrum, define requirements, estimate work, implement features, and validate through tests across the full software lifecycle.

This on-site role requires a DoD Secret clearance and collaboration with internal and external teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in STEM with 2+ years of relevant experience or a Master’s degree with no experience.
• Active DoD Secret clearance with ability to obtain Top-Secret and SAP clearances.
• Experience with Agile methodologies and CI/CD tools (Bamboo, Jenkins).
• Experience as a Scrum Master.
• Proficiency in C# and/or Java and OO design.
• Experience with Microsoft Windows technologies.
• Test procedure development and maintenance.
• Experience coordinating formal test events.
• Experience with scripting: YAML, Python, PowerShell, Batch, Typescript.
• Automated test scripting and testing software like TestComplete 4.
• Knowledge of revision control systems (Bitbucket, Git, CVS).
• Excellent communication and system troubleshooting skills.
• US Citizenship and current DoD Secret Clearance with ability to obtain SAP access.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, document, test and debug software for mission planning systems.
• Maintain and improve CI/CD pipelines for fast, reliable delivery.
• Set up and deploy development, test, and build environments.
• Create Windows installers and install software products.
• Support software builds and installation processes.
• Collaborate in a cross-functional scrum to deliver features.
• Understand third-party software/hardware interfaces for integration.
• Develop test artifacts linking requirements to tests and scripts.
• Define test strategies and update testing procedures as needed.
• Perform smoke and acceptance testing on builds.
• Interface with customers at a technical level and support documentation.
• Assist in agile framework as Scrum Master when required.
