Job summary

SAIC is seeking an experienced Mission Engineer to support the Space Development Agency’s Tranche 3 Program Integration (T3PI) program. This role requires an active TS/SCI clearance and offers location options in Chantilly, VA, El Segundo, CA, or Colorado Springs, CO.

You will analyze space and ground system architectures, mature models and build scenarios to capture system-of-systems effects in complex environments. Collaboration with government and prime contractors is essential.

Qualifications

• Fourteen+ years of demonstrated system engineering and integration experience with space, ground, operations and sustainment DoD or NRO programs.
• Active TS/SCI security clearance.
• Experience coordinating requirements across space and ground segment organizations to ensure end-to-end mission performance.
• Strong modeling, simulation, and mission analysis techniques and tools.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.

• Developing Requirements Verification Trace Matrix (RVTM) for the Enterprise Requirements Document (ERD).
• Plan data aggregation from component programs and SDA analysis to show ERD compliance.
• Review government scenarios to ensure T3 scenarios are consistent.
• Develop and briefing data packages that provide analysis results to inform government decisions.
• Collaborating with prime contractors, SDA, DoD/NRO customers and other stakeholders.

Description

Make a difference for national security by joining a team of dedicated professionals who assist the Space Development Agency in developing and deploying the next generation of satellites and ground systems for missile warning (MW), missile tracking (MT) and missile defense (MD).

SAIC is seeking an experienced Mission Engineer to support the Space Development Agency (SDA) Tranche 3 Program Integration (T3PI) program. This position requires an active TS/SCI security clearance. Desired location is in Chantilly, VA, El Segundo, CA, or the Colorado Springs, CO area(s).

Our T3PI team has a need for a tracking Mission Engineer with experience analyzing space and ground system architectures through mission thread development and simulation. We are looking for innovative, creative, and highly motivated individuals to mature models and build scenarios (GRMs and DRMs) that effectively capture system of systems effects in complex operational environments.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Developing Requirements Verification Trace Matrix (RVTM) for the Enterprise Requirements Document (ERD).


• Plan data aggregation from component programs, SDA and T3PI analysis to show compliance with the ERD.


• Reviewing government scenarios from PWSA enterprise and prior tranches to ensure that T3 scenarios are consistent.


• Developing and briefing data packages that provide analysis results to inform the government decision-makers.


• Collaborating with prime contractors, other team contractors, government civilians, FFRDC, SETA and members of the SDA.

Qualifications

Required Experience:

• Bachelors in Math, Science or Engineering and fourteen (14) years or more of demonstrated system engineering and integration experience with space, ground, operations and sustainment segments of DoD or NRO programs with a proven delivery record; or Masters in Math, Science or Engineering and twelve (12) years or more of demonstrated experience.


• Active TS/SCI security clearance.


• Experience working across space and ground segment organizations to coordinate and identify system requirements that ensure end-to-end mission performance requirements are met.


• Strong understanding of modeling, simulation, and mission analysis techniques and tools.


• Experienced at self-starting, seeking solutions, and working well in a team environment.


• Demonstrated experience working with SDA/DoD/NRO customers in an acquisition environment, with space and/or ground systems.


• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as organizational and interpersonal skills.


• Experience working Space Mission V&V at Mission level.

Desired Requirements

• Overhead Persistent InfraRed (OPIR), other missile defense or related space-based ISR experience.


• Experience analyzing System Availability (AO or AF).

Target salary range: $160,001 - $200,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
