Job summary

Durham Exchange Club Industries (DECI) is seeking a Staff Accountant to support financial operations and ensure accuracy of data and reporting. You will handle month-end close tasks, reconciliations, and reporting across multiple ledgers in a mission-driven nonprofit.

The role requires 2+ years in accounting, strong Excel/Word skills, and the ability to manage confidential information with attention to detail. This on-site position offers opportunities to contribute to community initiatives.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Accounting or Business, Bachelor's Degree preferred.
• Minimum two years’ accounting experience.
• Strong Excel and Word skills; ability to handle confidential information.
• Excellent communication and ability to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Perform month-end close activities including AP and Payroll bank reconciliations and GL review.
• Run reports and close the month in A/R, A/P, Order Management, Payroll, Purchasing, Inventory Management, and GL.
• Assist with year-end audit and annual budget.
• Assist with preparation of 990 Tax Return.
• Prepare monthly Program Services electronic billing and monitor program service authorizations.
