Job summary

The YMCA of Greater Seattle seeks a Director of FP&A to lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling, reporting to the VP of Finance & Accounting. You will guide a small team and partner with Youth Development, Association Office, and shared-service leaders to align resources with strategy and drive continuous improvement.

The role requires strong communication, a bias for action, and the ability to steer teams through change in service to youth and families across King County.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field required.
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in financial planning and operational finance; at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
  • Experience in nonprofit, human services, or grant-funded environment preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead FP&A function by guiding development of financial models, scenario planning, and forecasting tools for enterprise decisions.
  • Supervise the Senior Financial Analyst and Grants Analyst, supporting day-to-day execution and long-term development in financial modeling, budgeting, and data interpretation.
  • Review and synthesize financial performance trends across divisions for insights to CFO and senior leadership.
  • Coordinate the preparation of executive-ready financial presentations, dashboards, and variance narratives.
  • Ensure data integrity and alignment between forecast assumptions and operational plans through coaching and standardized tools.
  • Advance analytical capabilities including predictive modeling and risk assessment by mentoring team members.
  • Support forecasting with consideration of risks, dependencies, and grant restrictions.
