Job summary

Cristo Rey Fort Worth is seeking a Controller to lead financial operations for a Catholic nonprofit high school. You will oversee accounting, reporting, cash flow, and internal controls to sustain fiscal health and mission delivery to underserved students.

The role partners with the President, Principal, and Development Office on budgeting, audits, and donor stewardship, while ensuring compliance with GAAP, regulatory filings, and nonprofit accounting best practices.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5–7 years of progressive accounting or financial management experience, preferably in nonprofit/educational setting.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and nonprofit accounting practices.
• Proficiency with financial software and tools (QuickBooks, Bloomerang, Google Sheets).
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication skills for presenting financial information to diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

• Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Manage general ledger and ensure accuracy of financial data.
• Maintain internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Develop and monitor the annual budget with school leadership.
