Job summary

Youth Services System, Inc, is seeking a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join the executive team and guide financial sustainability for a mission-driven nonprofit serving children, families, and the community. The role oversees finance, accounting, budgeting, grants, and IT operations, reporting to the CEO and serving on the leadership team.

The CFO will lead audits, tax filings, grant reporting, and strategic financial planning, while ensuring compliance with GAAP and nonprofit standards, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of financial management experience, preferably in a nonprofit.
• Fund accounting experience is required.
• Supervisory and leadership experience.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and nonprofit financial management.
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting, audits, grants management, and financial reporting.
• Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 and accounting software systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead all accounting and finance functions including payroll and grant accounting.
• Develop and manage the agency's annual operating budget and program budgets.
• Monitor cash flow, financial performance, and budget-to-actual results.
• Prepare financial reports, analyses, forecasts, and recommendations for leadership.
• Oversee annual audits, tax filings, cost reports, and 1099 preparation.
• Provide financial guidance to CEO, board committees, and stakeholders.
• Oversee IT operations and vendor relationships as part of operations.
