OpenAI is seeking Forward Deployed Software Engineers (FDSEs) to lead complex deployments of frontier models for government and public sector customers. You will embed with clients, map problems, architect full-stack solutions, and ship fast with measurable impact.

Based in SF/Seattle/DC with a hybrid work model (3 days in the office) and relocation assistance, you will collaborate across product, research, and customer teams to deliver secure, compliant AI deployments and reusable patterns for

Qualificações

• 5+ years of engineering or technical deployment experience, ideally in customer-facing or government environments.
• Active TS/SCI clearance or equivalent.
• Experience writing production-grade code across frontend and backend (Python/JavaScript).
• Familiar with cloud deployment models (Azure, AWS), Kubernetes, Terraform.
• Experience building or deploying systems powered by LLMs or generative models.
• Ability to simplify complexity and make fast, sound decisions under pressure.

Responsabilidades

• Own technical delivery across multiple government deployments, from prototype to production.
• Deeply embed with public sector customers to design and build applications powered by OpenAI models.
• Enable deployments across customer environments with observable systems spanning infrastructure to apps.
• Prototype and build full-stack systems using Python, JavaScript, or comparable stacks.
• Guide customers to maximize business value from their applications.
• Forge and manage relationships with customer leadership to ensure deployment at scale.
• Scope work, sequence delivery, and balance scope, speed, and quality.
• Contribute in code when momentum depends on it.
• Codify patterns into tools, playbooks, or building blocks for others.
• Share field feedback with Research and Product to influence roadmap.
