Job summary

The Rescue Mission is seeking an organized Accounts Payable Clerk to join the Finance team in a full-time role with a pay range of $17.00–$21.00 per hour. You will manage vendor invoices, assist with grant-related filings, and help maintain accurate financial records and controls.

Responsibilities include processing invoices, vendor inquiries, PO follow-up, journal entries, and supporting month-end close. A detail-oriented, service-focused individual will thrive in this fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

Associate degree preferred, or a minimum of three years of accounting or bookkeeping experience.
Practical experience using Microsoft Office applications.
Experience using Microsoft Excel and Word is preferred.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

Coordinate timely and accurate entry of vendor invoices into the general ledger system.
Prepare vendor statement reconciliations as needed.
Respond to inquiries from staff, clients, and vendors in a professional manner.
Assist with follow-up on open purchase orders.
Organize and maintain accounts payable records.
Scan, print, organize, and file financial documentation for monthly grant vouchering.
Record monthly and year-end journal entries to support closing processes.
Provide cross-coverage for other Accounting positions as needed.
Support internal controls and financial guidelines.
