Rescue Mission Alliance in Syracuse, NY is seeking an organized Accounts Payable Clerk to join our Finance team. This full-time role focuses on accurate entry of vendor invoices, timely payments, and strong internal controls.

You will manage AP tasks, assist with grant documentation and year-end filings, and provide support across procurement and accounting functions in a fast-paced nonprofit environment. Attention to detail and customer service are essential.

Qualifications

• Associate degree preferred, or 3+ years accounting or bookkeeping experience.
• Experience with accounts payable.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; Excel and Word preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Enter vendor invoices into the general ledger accurately.
• Prepare vendor statement reconciliations as needed.
• Respond to inquiries from staff, clients, and vendors professionally.
• Assist with follow-up on open purchase orders.
• Organize and maintain accounts payable records.
• Support grant documentation and year-end filings.
• Record monthly and year-end journal entries.
