AeroVironment, Inc. is seeking a Data Scientist or experienced Data Analyst to support mission-focused data analysis and deliver actionable insights from complex datasets. Ideal candidates will have geospatial/GIS, time-series analysis, NLP, and large language model usage experience.

The role involves building analytic models, applying techniques to diverse datasets, and communicating results clearly to stakeholders. A TS/SCI-ready environment and ITAR compliance are noted.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 4+ years of experience as a Data Scientist or Data Analyst or in a related analytical role.
• Experience in Geospatial/GIS, Time-series analysis, NLP, and Large Language Model usage (not training).
• Proficiency in Python, Bash, and SQL.
• Experience using Jupyter Notebook/Lab.
• Experience with Python libraries such as Pandas, Geopandas, NumPy, PySpark, SciPy, Plotly, Plotly Dash.
• Experience with ETL, data cleaning, data management, data analytics and data visualization.
• Active TS/SCI security clearance.

Responsabilités

• Build and assess analytic models tailored to mission-specific needs.
• Apply data science techniques to geospatial/GIS, time-series, and NLP datasets.
• Communicate principal conclusions clearly using math, statistics, and CS methods.
• Develop reproducible workflows and ensure data integrity.
• Develop methods for exploring and assessing datasets in varying states of organization and cleanliness.
• Organize, clean, and curate large datasets for analysis.
• Present complex findings in a way accessible to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
