Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Voice (VoIP) Systems Test Engineer to support FAA-critical voice infrastructure in Columbia, MD. The role covers hardware and software system-level testing of VoIP and communications equipment for the National Airspace System.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience testing Air Traffic Management, Radio Control Equipment, VoIP systems and/or advanced Networking.
• Experience developing internal and deliverable system-level test procedures for mission critical equipment.
• Experience with telecommunications systems and related technologies (VoIP, T1, ISDN, POTS, TDM).
• Ability to write clear and concise test plans and procedures and document defects.
• Excellent problem solving, analytical and technical troubleshooting skills.
• At least 5 years test-related work experience including hardware testing.
• BS in IT/CS/EE or equivalent (3+ years) with IT and telecom hardware/software.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and execute test procedures for hardware and software components.
• Demonstrate understanding of testing principles, documentation, traceability, and Test Verification Methods.
• Perform security, performance, and functional testing.
• Plan verification strategies and test specifications from requirements and use cases.
• Manage test environment for assigned programs, including scripts and equipment.
• Document defects with steps to recreate issues.
• Review system and software requirements from a testability perspective.
• Maintain organized records of test results and historical analysis.
• Communicate technical issues with Test Management, Engineering, and stakeholders.
