Job summary

VTG Defense is seeking a Technical Operations Project Manager to lead the delivery of mission-critical initiatives for National Security customers. The role is based in the National Capital Region and is 100% onsite.

Key responsibilities include planning and coordinating cross-functional teams, managing scope, timelines, and resources, and presenting status updates to leadership. Travel up to 35% CONUS is required, and a TS/SCI with Polygraph is mandatory.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI with Polygraph.
• Minimum of 12 years of experience.
• Bachelor's Degree (experience may count in lieu of degree).
• Must be able to travel up to 35% CONUS travel.
• Experience managing technical or mission-focused projects in government or national security environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning and execution of technical projects across cross-functional teams.
• Define project scope, objectives, timelines, and deliverables in coordination with stakeholders.
• Manage schedules, risks, dependencies, and resource allocation.
• Track progress using appropriate tools, metrics, and reporting frameworks.
• Coordinate internal staff and external partners to support successful delivery.
• Identify and mitigate project risks and issues proactively.
• Manage changes to scope, schedule, and cost using structured change-control practices.
• Prepare and present status updates to leadership and customer stakeholders.
• Maintain strong relationships across government and contractor teams.
• Develop and maintain project documentation, plans, and briefings.
