Job summary

Alliance Defending Freedom is seeking a Systems Administrator to install, configure, and maintain the IT infrastructure at the Washington, DC office. You will manage Windows domain services, Active Directory, and cloud resources with Azure, while ensuring security, high availability, and compliance.

Experience with OpenStack, Kubernetes, and virtualization is required. You will also perform service desk tasks, document configurations, and support end users with a customer-first approach,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of experience in systems administration or IT infrastructure.
• 2+ years of Tier I/II support in an office environment.
• Strong knowledge of Windows domain infrastructure, Active Directory, Group Policy, and DNS.
• Experience with Microsoft Azure cloud, Azure Active Directory, and virtualization.
• Familiarity with OpenStack, Kubernetes, and open-source storage systems.
• Ability to diagnose and resolve complex system issues with strong communication.

Responsibilities

• Design robust, scalable, and secure IT systems architecture aligned to industry best practices.
• Implement and maintain servers, storage, and virtualization technologies; ensure deployment and integration.
• Monitor performance, troubleshoot, optimize resources, manage backups, and test disaster recovery plans.
• Collaborate with security to enforce compliance and protect data and systems.
• Create documentation, reports on performance and health for management.
• Manage Windows domain infrastructure, Active Directory, policies, and cloud services (Azure).
• Assist end users with technical issues with a customer-first approach within SLAs.
• Track incidents in ITSM for timely resolution and knowledge base maintenance.
• Conduct root cause analysis and implement permanent fixes.
