Job summary

Amentum is seeking a mid-level System Administrator to support a Department of War customer in Springfield, VA. You will maintain secure, virtualized networks and provide essential Windows Server and Azure-based administration on-site with minimal travel within the NCR.

Responsibilities include policy implementation, patching, backup operations, and coordination with the IT Manager. Strong communication and problem-solving skills are required for success in a highly structured, mission-focused

Qualifications

• Must have an Active Top Secret US Government Clearance with SCI eligibility and be able to pass a Counterintelligence Polygraph if required.
• At least 4 years of experience in Windows Server environments, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and basic TCP/IP/network troubleshooting.
• Current Security+ or DoD 8140/8570 IAT II certification and Azure AZ104 certification are required.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills; ability to work independently or in a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Provide enterprise-wide help desk support across multiple network locations.
• Implement group policies, access rights, and user account maintenance.
• Install, configure, and troubleshoot hardware and software to meet objectives.
• Perform patch management and system upgrades; ensure DISA STIGs and related standards compliance.
• Maintain security using ACAS, HBSS, and WSUS for DoW networks.
• Conduct backups, restorations, and verify success; stay current with technologies.
