Job summary

AAC Inc. is seeking a Tier 3 technical support specialist to manage Microsoft systems, including Azure cloud services, and to build, implement, and troubleshoot information systems.

Role requires on-site support five days a week, with occasional after-hours outages. You will analyze logs, apply updates, configure hardware/software, manage identities, and automate tasks using PowerShell to improve reliability and security.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 3–5 years of IT experience including end-user systems and systems administration focused on Microsoft technologies.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft technologies and enterprise management tools.

Responsibilities

• Analyze system logs and identify issues in computer systems.
• Apply OS updates, patches, and configuration changes.
• Install/configure hardware, storage, and software.
• Administer user accounts, including password resets.
• Respond to end-user technical queries and assist users.
• Tune system performance and reliability.
• Install and manage virtual machines and cloud instances.
• Maintain infrastructure availability and troubleshoot problems.
• Support IT projects and CIS Benchmark security hardening.
• Support compliance with federal baselines and directives.
• Develop PowerShell scripts to automate tasks.

Job description

Provide Tier 3 technical support for Microsoft systems. Build, implement, and troubleshoot information systems within the Microsoft technology stack, including Microsoft Azure cloud technologies. Monitor and respond to system problems, provide technical support on existing and emerging technologies, and plan and execute technology projects, tasks, and initiatives. Research and report on new technologies and their potential value to the organization.

Requires on-site support 5 days per week and occasional after-hours outage support.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

• Analyze system logs and identify potential issues with computer systems
• Apply operating system updates, patches, and configuration changes
• Install and configure new hardware, storage, and software
• Add, remove, or update user account information, including resetting passwords
• Answer technical queries and assist end users
• Perform system performance tuning
• Install and create virtual machines and cloud instances
• Ensure infrastructure availability and troubleshoot reported problems
• Support IT projects
• Implement and maintain CIS Benchmark configurations and other security hardening standards across the Windows environment
• Support compliance efforts related to federal security baselines and directives
• Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts and other automation tools to streamline administrative tasks
• Identify opportunities to automate system monitoring, reporting, and remediation processes

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field; equivalent experience may be substituted for the degree requirement.
• 3-5 years of relevant IT experience, including end-user systems and systems administration; at least 3 years must be specific to systems administration supporting Microsoft technologies.
• Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft technologies, including Active Directory, Entra ID, Intune, SCCM, the Windows OS, Microsoft 365, and Teams.
• Comprehensive knowledge and experience with enterprise management tools such as Microsoft InTune, Microsoft SCCM, and ManageEngine Endpoint Central.
• Demonstrated experience automating administrative tasks and workflows using PowerShell and similar scripting/automation tools.
• Demonstrated systems administration experience in Windows physical, virtual, and Azure cloud environments.
• Working knowledge of CIS Benchmarks and Windows security hardening practices.
• Ability to manage multiple high-priority projects simultaneously.
• Must be a US citizen and must obtain an agency public trust suitability determination prior to start date.

Preferred Qualifications

• Azure and Windows Server certifications and other relevant industry certifications.
• Security-related certifications (e.g., Security+, GSEC, or similar).
• Experience supporting a nationwide mid-sized Federal agency enterprise.
