Job summary

VEIT is seeking a Traveling Heavy Civil/Mission Critical Project Engineer/QC or Field Engineer to manage field logistics, coordinate with project managers and contractors, and ensure compliance with engineering standards, codes and specs on mission critical projects.

This role travels to job sites (up to 80%), supports operations, oversees logistics, prepares submittals, change orders, and safety documentation, and helps develop project deliverables with QA/QC plans.

Qualifications

• Ability to work in both field and office environments.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and basic software tools.
• Strong communication with clients, subcontractors and staff.
• Ability to read, interpret project plans and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Manage field logistics and track project costs to stay within budget.
• Prepare, review, and approve supplier purchase orders and change orders.
• Coordinate efforts with project managers, superintendents and clients.
• Maintain project submittal/RFI logs and document distribution.
• Lead safety observations and ensure site compliance with policies.
• Assist with estimating duties including take-offs and bid preparation.
