Job summary

Amentum is seeking a senior cloud infrastructure engineer to design, implement, and maintain cloud environments with a focus on modernization, migration, and governance. You will build reusable IaC modules and work with Java and React to deliver scalable solutions while monitoring performance and optimizing costs.

You will contribute to runbooks, architectures, and operational procedures, and stay abreast of new technologies to enhance capabilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in Computer Science, Engineering or related discipline.
• Five (5) years of software development/engineering experience in similar programs.
• Within the last five years, at least three years in Java, C, and/or C++ and three years with NoSQL products such as HBase, Cloud BigTable or Accumulo.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain cloud infrastructure with modernization, migration, roadmaps, and governance.
• Build reusable IaC modules (e.g., Helm Charts, Terraform).
• Develop with Java and React.
• Monitor health and performance of infra with logging/alerting; implement efficiency improvements.
• Provide strategies for backup, high availability, and cost optimization.
• Participate in continuous improvement to enhance system capabilities.
• Produce runbooks and architectural deliverables; transfer knowledge to teams.
• Stay updated on emerging tech and propose system enhancements.
