Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Software Support Engineer to join Leidos Defense Sensor, in North Alabama, for missile-defense project work within the BMD Simulations and Analysis Portfolio.

The role involves troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and cross-functional collaboration with SW product teams, systems engineers, and lab staff, using structured methodologies to identify root causes and implement corrective actions. On-site support is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 5 years of relevant experience or Master's with 3 years of relevant experience.
• Proven experience in C++, Java or Python.
• Basic skills with Git and version control.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to interpret complex data.
• Excellent hardware and/or software diagnostic skills with ability to read logs to find root causes.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Active secret clearance required.
• Full-time onsite support in North Alabama area.
• Resident of the North Alabama area required.

Responsibilities

• Lead and facilitate root cause analysis investigations for complex technical issues, product failures, process deviations, and quality incidents.
• Collect and analyze data from product data, test results, customer feedback, and system logs.
• Conduct detailed failure analyses on complex software observations.
• Collaborate with SW product management, SW developers, system architects, test engineers, and other stakeholders to gather information and develop solutions.
• Document findings and present conclusions and corrective actions to stakeholders.
• Develop and implement solutions to prevent recurrence of defects or issues.
• Identify systemic issues and opportunities for improvement across processes and SW products.
