The Hadar Institute in New York seeks two Minyan Interns to anchor our weekday davening community in a staff-like role centered on individual development and minyan operations. You will handle logistics, build relationships with attendees, and collaborate on tefillah programming throughout the year.

This role offers structured learning with weekly supervision as gabbai, plus opportunities to teach divrei Torah and engage community leadership.

Qualifications

• Friendly, welcoming presence with a variety of community members.
• Attention to logistical detail and ability to manage moving pieces in real time.
• Fluency with the flow of the weekday service.
• Enthusiasm for communal davening and investment in its health and growth.
• Eagerness to develop skills in community engagement and marketing around weekly tfillah.
• Residence on the Upper West Side or reliable commuting to arrive before 7:45 AM for morning minyan.

Responsibilities

• Hold the minyan space and ensure there is a minyan, daveners, gabbaim, and Torah readers for each service.
• Welcome attendees and rotate to ensure each service runs smoothly and the community feels supported.
• Distribute aliyot and cue community members for their roles.
• Send reminder communications to the community (WhatsApp).
• Create and maintain databases and resources, including a list of regular attendees.
• Collaborate with faculty leads on immersive programs to plan and run davening for special days and program weeks.
• Contribute to broader tefillah programming and Hadar initiatives.
• Build relationships with community members and recruit new participants to the minyan.
