Job summary

Quanex is seeking a Minors Operator for the 3rd shift in Kentucky. You will follow recipes, weigh chemicals accurately, and support the Mixer Operator to ensure safe, efficient production.

Ideal candidates have manufacturing experience, attention to detail, and the ability to operate machinery and forklifts. Overtime and weekend work may be required in a dynamic production environment.

Qualifications

• One or more years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
• High School or GED preferred.
• Willing to work overtime including weekends.
• Close visual work required.
• Knowledge of general computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Follow scheduled recipes and supply ingredients for each recipe to the Mixer Operator.
• Weigh all chemicals accurately and consistently.
• Operate machinery safely and efficiently.
• Maintain quality control by monitoring production output.
• Identify issues with the product or process and correct as needed.
• Ensure belts, pans, and knives are cleaned between compounds.
• Follow safety procedures and assist in updating procedures.
• Ability to operate a forklift for various functions.

What Success Looks Like:

• Strong mechanical aptitude.
• Necessity for attention to detail.
• The ability to operate machinery safely and efficiently.
• Capable of maintaining quality control by monitoring production output.
• Ability to identify any issues with the product or process.
• Correctly identifying the correct batch is being milled.
• Ensure belts, pans, and knives are always cleaned between compounds.
• Following all safety procedures and guidelines along with assisting in modifying and updating procedures
• Operating a forklift for various functions.

Your Credentials:

The hourly rate for this position is $18 per hour, plus $1.00/hour shift premium for 2nd and/or 3rd shift.

3rd shift - 10:45pm - 7:00am
