Quanex is seeking a Drop Mill Operator for the 2:45pm-11:00pm shift in a manufacturing setting. You will mix and process compounds through the drop mill, ensuring accuracy and safety while meeting specifications.

The role emphasizes attention to detail, operating machinery safely, and maintaining production quality. Overtime, weekends, and a collaborative team culture are part of the role.

Qualifications

• One or more years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
• High School or GED preferred.
• Willing to work overtime including weekends.
• Close visual work required.
• Knowledge of general computer skills.
• Attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Operate mill machinery safely and efficiently.
• Maintain quality control by monitoring production output.
• Identify issues with the product or process.
• Ensure correct batch is milled.
• Clean belts, pans, and knives between compounds.
• Follow and update safety procedures and guidelines.
• Operate a forklift for various functions.

What Success Looks Like

• Strong mechanical aptitude.
• Necessity for attention to detail.
• The ability to operate machinery safely and efficiently.
• Capable of maintaining quality control by monitoring production output.
• Ability to identify any issues with the product or process.
• Correctly identifying the correct batch is being milled.
• Ensure belts, pans, and knives are always cleaned between compounds.
• Following all safety procedures and guidelines along with assisting in modifying and updating procedures
• Operating a forklift for various functions.

The hourly rate for this position is $18 per hour, plus $1.00/hour shift premium for 2nd and/or 3rd shift.
