Job summary

Carmeuse is seeking a qualified engineer to join our North America team in Michigan. The role focuses on coaching production teams, maintaining safety and environmental compliance, and driving continuous improvement across equipment and processes.

You will stay current with industry technology, participate in capital projects, and help meet production targets while upholding MSHA standards and company policy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction or related field.
• 5 years of experience in mining or construction environment (preferred).
• Positive and proactive attitude with ability to address issues and implement solutions.
• Understanding of heavy equipment and mining operations.
• Detail and process oriented with strong problem resolution abilities.
• Team player who adapts to fast-paced environments.

Responsibilities

• Assist and coach team(s) to ensure quality, production, and shipment requirements are being met.
• Maintain a safe workplace and work culture in accordance with company policy(s) and MSHA standards.
• Stay current with new equipment and technology in the industry.
• Meet budgeted production targets.
• Maintain environmental compliance per company policy, permits, and government regulations.
• Manage data captured including but not limited to SAP inputs, timecard maintenance, EMS system, Blast reporting.
• Manage employee productivity, job performance, and overall production efficiencies.
• Implement training plans to provide employees with the necessary training to perform their job safely and effectively.
• Ensure compliance with work instructions to define and control the production process.
• Participate in long term capital project planning.
• Manage capital projects within department.
