Job summary

Carmeuse is seeking an experienced Environmental Area Manager to lead compliance and permitting across Michigan operations. This role serves as the primary internal resource for Michigan Water Resources Permits (Part 301), collaborating with operations, engineering, regulators, and consultants.

The position offers flexibility within Michigan (Gulliver, Cedarville, Drummond Island, Rogers City, or Lansing) and opportunities to drive continuous improvement in air, land, and water programs while

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of environmental experience in heavy industry, mining, or similar operations.
• Strong knowledge of environmental regulations and permitting requirements.
• Experience with Michigan wetlands permitting (Part 303), wetland delineation, or mitigation banking is a plus.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and project management skills.

This role will serve as the primary internal resource for Michigan Water Resources Permits (Part 301), while supporting environmental programs related to air, land, and water compliance. The successful candidate will partner with operations, engineering, regulatory agencies, and consultants to ensure compliance, manage environmental reporting, oversee permitting activities, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
