Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in occupational safety, mining, engineering, or related field preferred; equivalent relevant experience considered.
• Progressive safety experience in mining or heavy industry, including leadership or supervisory responsibility.
• Experience supporting surface, underground, and/or mineral processing operations; multi-area experience strongly preferred.
• CSP, CMSP, ARM, TapRooT®/investigation, or comparable safety and risk credentials.
• Strong people leadership, coaching, and talent-development capability.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop Operational Safety Specialists; establish clear priorities, field coverage, and performance expectations.
• Maintain compliance and inspection readiness for applicable regulatory requirements across surface, underground, and processing areas.
• Support development and implementation of the site Risk Management system, including critical-control verification and risk assessments.
• Lead or support event notification, classification, investigation, corrective-action development, learning communication, and effectiveness verification.
• Support Contractor Safety Management from mobilization to field oversight and closeout; partner with contractor representatives and operational owners.
• Conduct and coordinate field inspections, audits, observations, and assurance activities; identify trends and ensure actions are tracked, verified, and closed.
