Job summary

Jerritt Canyon is seeking a Health & Safety Specialist to support a proactive safety culture across the Nevada site. You will work with site leadership to identify, assess, and mitigate risks while ensuring regulatory alignment with company standards.

The role includes coaching, inspections, incident investigations, risk assessments, training delivery, and coordination with contractors to uphold H&S programs and prepare for potential restart activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety or related field.
• Minimum 3+ years of health and safety experience.
• Experience in mining or heavy industrial environments preferred.
• Working knowledge of MSHA and regulatory frameworks.
• Familiarity with H&S systems and risk management processes.
• Experience supporting incident investigations and program implementation.
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with Word and Excel in field environments.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day health and safety support across Jerritt Canyon facilities.
• Deliver coaching and guidance to employees and supervisors on safe work practices.
• Participate in inspections, audits, and field interactions to identify hazards.
• Support compliance with federal, state, and company H&S regulations; assist during inspections.
• Facilitate incident investigations using recognized methodologies to identify root causes.
• Assist in corrective action development to prevent recurrence of incidents.
• Participate in risk assessments and track mitigation plans.
• Compile and report H&S performance data for decision-making.
• Support implementation of H&S programs and training across site.
• Maintain corrective action logs and SOP registers.
• Collaborate with contractors to align H&S expectations and site programs.
• Support emergency preparedness and rapid response activities.
• Participate in governance programs and safety initiatives.
