Placements24 seeks an experienced Operations Manager for a mining services facility in Upington, Northern Cape. You will oversee day-to-day operations, lead a diverse team, and ensure safety, efficiency, and client satisfaction in a demanding environment.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field, 8+ years in operations, strong leadership, budgeting, and project management skills. You will implement HSE policies, manage budgets, and build client relationships.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in operations management in mining/heavy industry.
• Proven ability to lead diverse teams and manage complex operations.
• Strong knowledge of safety regulations within mining industry.
• Experience with budgeting and cost control in operations.

Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee all day-to-day operations related to mining support services.
• Ensure safe and efficient delivery of services to mining clients in the region.
• Develop and implement operational strategies to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of operational staff with a focus on safety and performance.
• Enforce strict HSE policies and procedures in line with mining standards.
• Manage operational budgets and financial performance.
• Oversee maintenance and deployment of equipment and resources.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with mining clients and understand their needs.
• Monitor KPIs and take corrective actions for deviations.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and adoption of new technologies.
