Hudbay USA is seeking a detail-oriented Land Analyst to support surface rights, mining claims, water rights, and real estate records for active Western U.S. assets. You will assist with title research, agreement drafting, filings, and data management under the Land Manager.

The role emphasizes accuracy, documentation, and timely compliance with BLM and state requirements, with collaboration across GIS and landowners. AAPL status is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in a related field such as Petroleum/Energy Management, Business, Geology or Environmental Science.
• 0–3 years of land, paralegal, real estate, or natural resources experience; mining/oil & gas internships are a plus.
• AAPL Active Member or candidate pursuing RPL status preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and update land management databases for leases, mining claims, surface rights, water rights, and rights-of-way.
• Track federal claim maintenance fees (BLM), state land leases, and private option/lease obligations to ensure compliance.
• Perform preliminary land title research and review county public records and BLM LR2000/MLRS data; assemble documents for review.
• Prepare correspondence and notices for landowners, government agencies, and external land brokers.
• Draft standard land documents, easements, rights-of-entry, and land status summaries using templates.
• Coordinate with GIS to update land ownership maps and tenure status maps for exploration and operations teams.
• Support contracts, corporate filings, and other matters involving real property.
