Job summary

Stantec is seeking an Intermediate Level Hydrogeologist to support hydrogeologic studies for mining clients, reporting to an office in Salt Lake City, Reno, Denver or Phoenix. The role involves field investigations, well installations, and collaborative work with multi-disciplinary teams in challenging environments.

Ideal candidates will have a bachelor’s in geology or hydrogeology, 5+ years of experience, GIS and groundwater modeling familiarity, and a professional license or the ability to

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in geology or hydrogeology or related discipline is required; master’s preferred.
• Experience with GIS tools and interpretation of aquifer test results.
• Professional license (PG) or ability to obtain one is required or pursued.

Responsibilities

• Develop conceptual hydrogeological models to support field program design.
• Oversee hydrogeology field investigations including drilling, logging, sampling.
• Install monitoring, supply, dewatering wells and piezometers.
• Oversee single and multi-well aquifer tests.
• Support development of numerical groundwater models for dewatering and impact assessments.
• Prepare field data summary reports and lithologic logs.
• Travel to field sites; valid driver’s license required.
• Follow safety practices and collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams.
