Job summary

Stantec seeks an Intermediate Hydrogeologist or Geochemist to join our Mining Team with offices in Salt Lake City, Denver or Phoenix. The role centers on geochemistry studies for mining clients, addressing acid rock drainage, metal leaching, mineral precipitation, pit lake chemistry, and water-rock interactions.

You will evaluate groundwater geochemistry, develop geochemical models, and support the broader geoscience team on international projects. Travel to remote sites may be required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of an MS in geochemistry, hydrogeology, geology or related discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience, preferably in aqueous geochemistry.
• Strong technical writing skills.
• Professional license (PG) or ability to obtain preferred.
• Excellent organizational, technical, written and oral communication with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Support groundwater chemistry evaluations relevant to mining or water resources.
• Assist complex geochemical and hydrogeological modeling using PHREEQC, MINTEQ, and related tools.
• Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams and communicate results clearly.
