Job summary

Stantec’s Mining Team in the United States is seeking an Intermediate Level Hydrogeologist or Geochemist, reporting to an office in Salt Lake City, Denver or Phoenix (location flexible). The primary focus of this position is to support geochemistry studies for our regional and international mining industry clients.

The individual will engage complex projects related to acid rock drainage, metal leaching, mineral precipitation, pit lake chemistry, water-rock interactions, and

Qualifications

• MS in geochemistry, hydrogeology, geology or related discipline is required.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience, preferably in aqueous geochemistry.
• Strong technical writing skills.
• Professional license (PG) or the ability to obtain a professional license preferred.
• Exceptional organizational, technical, written and oral communication and attention to detail skills.

Responsibilities

• Experience in groundwater chemistry evaluations critical to mining, environmental, or water‑resource programs.
• Proven ability to support complex geochemical and hydrogeological modeling efforts using software such as PHREEQC, MINTEQ, Geochemist’s Workbench, GoldSim, Leapfrog, database management, GIS, and related tools.
• Strong communication skills and collaborative working relationships with cross‑disciplinary teams.
