Job summary

Komatsu America Corp. is seeking an experienced Field Service Technician to support mining operations across the Southwest. This role is primarily field-based, working out of a company-provided service truck to diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair Komatsu mining equipment on-site.

You will travel to mining sites across Arizona and California for several weeks at a time, handling complex mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems, and contributing to uptime and safety on heavy equipment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience maintaining mining equipment (electric drive trucks, shovels, dozers, excavators, loaders preferred).
• Ability to read prints and complete repairs to OEM specifications.
• Able to live in the field 4–6 weeks at a time, up to 70 hour weeks.
• Strong troubleshooting skills in hydraulics, low voltage electrical, and mechanical systems.
• Proficient with precision measuring instruments.
• Completion of an accredited apprenticeship or 1 year technical college program is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs on large mining equipment (e.g., haul trucks, shovels, excavators)
• Work primarily in the field using a fully equipped service truck
