Job summary

Komatsu is seeking an experienced Field Service Technician to diagnose, repair, rebuild, and maintain heavy mining equipment at customer sites across Arizona. The role requires advanced troubleshooting skills and strong technical knowledge of mining equipment systems, including hydraulics, DC electric, engines, powertrains, and component rebuilds.

This traveling, onsite role involves up to six days a week on the road, coordinating with customers and internal teams to ensure responsive service,

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Minimum of 2 years on mining equipment or 5+ years on construction equipment.
  • Valid driver's license is required.
  • Flexibility to work shifts and long hours (10–14 hour days) is expected.

Responsibilities

  • Prioritize safety and follow safe work practices at all times.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on heavy mining equipment in the field.
  • Perform maintenance, inspections, and updates per service standards.
  • Remove/install parts, disassemble/reassemble mining components, and test assemblies with minimal supervision.
  • Communicate with customers and internal teams to ensure service quality and satisfaction.
  • Complete related paperwork and access required databases.
  • Provide accurate quotes and pricing estimates to customers.
  • Travel extensively to customer locations to provide field support and emergency repairs.
