Job summary

Freeport-McMoRan seeks a maintenance/mechanical technician to safely maintain, install, and repair equipment in the Milling plant near Sierrita, 20 miles from Tucson. The role supports conveyors, mills, screens, and pumps and may require welding (Stick, TIG) as needed.

Clean work area, safety-first mindset, and adherence to 24/7 operations are essential. Ideal candidates bring 1 year of mechanical maintenance experience or a suitable combination of education, with the ability to read schematics

Qualifications

• 1 year of mechanical/maintenance experience or equivalent education.
• Ability read schematics and blueprints.
• Academic and competencies required, with safety exam.
• Line of Progression requirements for internal employees.

Responsibilities

• Safely maintains, installs, and repairs equipment in the Milling plant.
• Assists with component replacement on conveyors, mills, screens, and pumps.
• Performs mechanical lubrication and preventive maintenance checks.
• Welding with Stick or TIG may be performed.
• Maintains work orders and keeps area clean and safe.
• Fulfills other duties as required.
